Transform Your Business to Match Your Lifestyle Goals
Hey there 👋
I hope you’re off to a great 2024, and this newsletter will help you continue to level up in your business and your life.
Let’s get into the first issue of the Remote Scaling Lifestyle newsletter 🙌
"Embracing change is the first step to business innovation."
Whether you’re having a kid, moving houses, or picking up and living out of a suitcase around the world as I have the past two years — your business will inevitably shift when your lifestyle does.
When I started my journey as a digital nomad, I was able to still see coaching clients at normal hours and maintain a similar enough working schedule.. because I was actually in the same time zone.
But when I decided that last year I would fly to the other side of the world and flip my clock right upside down with a full 12-hour time difference in Asia.. I knew I’d have to tweak the way I work.
While I was excited for the change, I knew I didn’t want to be working the graveyard shift just to see clients during their waking hours if they were based in the Americas.
So as we journey through life’s inevitable unknowns and changes, adapting our business models to fit our lifestyles becomes crucial.
Here are some of the things I explored when I made this shift:
Less coaching clients — I decided I’d pivot out of the coaching model, and focus on asynchronous client engagement via Loom/Vimeo calls & text support over live calls
More consulting & agency work that didn’t require the phone calls or 1:1 time at all
Gave myself some grace, and held some boundaries about when I would or wouldn’t work
If you’re looking at making a lifestyle upgrade or change, it’s key to make sure your business can be there to help support it — not hinder it.
Let’s look at the essence of flexibility and innovation in our entrepreneurial journeys.
It’s not just about where we work; it’s about how our businesses can thrive in various settings, embracing the cultures and rhythms of our ever-changing surroundings.
This issue is all about diving into key insights on morphing your business model to suit your lifestyle of choice — be it beachside, city-bound, or in the countryside.
I’ve picked out a couple tools for this week’s issue to help us make collaboration, training and comms a little smoother for whatever business model (or time zone) you take on.
Be sure to also check out Tara’s article below that challenges our society’s over-focus on productivity and hustle culture. She explains how embracing the slow process will lead to more joy — and a more sustainable and successful business journey.

I love MeetGeek for when I do get on calls — it does all the note-taking for you.
If I decide I’m getting on a 10pm call and won’t have time to follow up afterwards, I’ll know that my client will receive an automated email from MeetGeek sharing the call recording, the call transcript — and my favourite part? A list of actionable takeaways and insights captured from the meeting.
Nothing I love more than waking up the next morning and hearing clients having great breakthroughs from something that I said on our call — and that AI summarized even more succinctly 😅
Vimeo is rolling out some badass video editing features on their paid plans — but my favourite use case for it still is the simple screen record feature.
With their Chrome extension, you’re a click of a button away from quickly recording your screen and /or your camera — ready to share some feedback with a client or team member at any time (zone)!
While we can make all the great iterations in how we run our business, and have the best AI tools to help us be more efficient, if our mindset doesn’t align with the changes — I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t learned this firsthand… things might not go to plan 😅.
For a reminder that we don’t have to have it all figured out, get it all done in one day, and go at a pace that supports both our lifestyle and our business goals, check out this article.
Remember, our businesses are as adaptable as we are.
With the right strategy, mindset and tools, there’s no limit to where we can go or what we can achieve.
Here's to breaking boundaries and building dreams, one adventure at a time.
