If You Always Do What You've Always Done, You'll Always Get What You've Always Got.”

~ Henry Ford

Happy Thursday from Buenos Aires 🧉

I’m writing this from a cafe rooftop, getting ready for a long weekend away to celebrate my birthday and a solid first month of Q2.

Cafe in Buenos Aires at “Merienda” time (snack meal between lunch and dinner)

As we head into the weekend, I’m toasting you to your passion-fuelled progress this week, for the value we've all crafted and delivered.

I don’t know about you, but oftentimes, even after a really productive week, it’s all too easy to wish there was more time to keep working on the next piece to grow my business.

Which is why, as I’ve said before, we need to remember to celebrate our wins.

Yet, with every win, we're reminded of the entrepreneur's paradox: trading the 9-5 for what feels like 24/7.

It's a thrilling ride but can leave us spinning on the 'business-owner hamster wheel.'

Here's the common snag: Burnout sneaks up, and suddenly, we're running on fumes.

It's the problem every entrepreneur faces at some point, the threat to our most valuable asset – our energy (and thus also our irreplaceable time).

The Solution? Intentional Rejuvenation.

This weekend, I’m flying across the country to enjoy a road trip through Argentina’s north & explore all the surrounding beauty around Salta, soaking up some well-deserved time off to refill my creative juices.

Why? Because stepping back is not just about rest—it’s strategic recovery.

It's about returning with a recharged zest and fresh ideas that keep us ahead of the game.

Ask yourself:

  • Have you scheduled your downtime like you do your meetings?

  • What activities refuel your spirit and brainpower?

By creating the time and space to reset, we can gain new perspectives on what we really need.

Maybe you’ll come back with an insight about how you’re doing too much (I’m often reminded of this one 😅)…

And maybe you’ll be prompted to finally…

  • Make that new hire to free up your strategic energy

  • Get the support you know you need to overcome a roadblock

  • Implement the AI system to streamline an area that’s weighing on you

…or whatever else it is that will be the next ALIGNED action to really get you moving in the right direction, capacity, and at the right pace.

Because we all know how easy it is to just keep pushing from one thing to the next, and this can be a surefire way to keep doing more of what we’ve always done.

Quick Tip to Make This Possible

Plan a 'hard stop' to your workdays and workweek. Sure, sometimes we need to put in some OT on the weekend to push towards completing a project…

But if you can, set yourself a time to step away from all work-related tasks, even for just one day. This boundary signals to your brain that it's time to shift modes from production to restoration (and hopefully do something fun!).

So, before the day winds down, take a moment to acknowledge your achievements. Then, switch off, step out, and embrace the rejuvenation waiting for you.

Worried your creative juices are running dry?

This piece from Ness Labs underscores the importance of recognizing the signs of burnout, such as a decline in productivity and the joy of creation, and emphasizes proactive strategies for prevention and recovery.

One key takeaway is the balance between engagement in creative activities and the necessary restorative periods of rest and disengagement to sustain long-term creative health.

After reading the article, reflect on this:

How do you currently balance your creative pursuits with rest, and what strategies from the article could you implement to avoid burnout?

Have a great weekend ahead! Don’t forget to take time to recharge 😜

See you next week,
Trevor

I’ve built a bad-ass (if I do say so myself) custom GPT that can actually help you check-in and align on what’s needed for you in your business based on your strategy, your capacity, and your particular situation and style.

I’m looking to build one out for one of my readers for free (& your feedback 😊)!

Let's connect on a call to explore how intentional rejuvenation can help you break free from the "business-owner hamster wheel" and gain fresh perspectives to drive your success.
