If you’ve been using AI tools we have available to us today, we all know that LLMs like ChatGPT revolutionize how we do our work, including copywriting – but it's not without limits.

It often misses the nuanced, emotional depth required for effective copy.

Understanding AI’s Limitations:

ChatGPT's content can lack relevance due to superficial context understanding. True copywriting demands deep empathy, often absent in AI-generated text.

The Need for Human Touch:

Genuine copy forges connections and builds trust through emotional resonance, something AI can't replicate fully — at least not without us properly training it beforehand.

Persuasive copy needs the human element to truly engage and convert readers.

Smarter Prompts, Better Output:

Clear, detailed prompts are crucial – as we covered a couple weeks ago here.

They transform ChatGPT from a simple text generator to a tool that reflects your unique voice.

Without good input from you in the driver’s seat, don’t expect much good output.

Remember, "garbage in, garbage out."

From my experience, ChatGPT/Claude are still not quite at the level of human copywriting, but they’re great tools if you prompt them right.

And of course – it definitely also helps to know what good copy looks like so you can fine-tune it on the other end to get it converting the way you want it to.

I put on a brief session for a group of coaches that really covers some foundational pieces that should be the focus of whatever content/copy you’re creating.

Check it out and make sure that you’re doing these 3 things with or without AI, and you’ll be well on your way to writing more consistently high-quality copy & content.

How do you balance integrating AI tools with preserving the human touch in your marketing content?

That’s all for this week! For our friends Stateside celebrating a long weekend, enjoy the festivities!

See you next week 👋
